Friday Night Lights VII: state-ranked Irish maul Jaguars

The Maple Lake Irish named the score tonight. After leading 28-0 at halftime, they decided to win 47-0 over our B-B-E Jaguars football team. The Jaguars came close to holding Maple Lake to just one touchdown in the first quarter. The second touchdown came with 1:42 left in the first quarter.

At one point the Jaguars could have recovered their own punt inside the Maple Lake 15-yard line. The Irish punt receiver fumbled the football, it bounced away from about six players before it landed right back in the hands of a Maple Lake player at the Maple Lake eight-yard line.

It was that type of night. The Jaguars actually played pretty well in the first half considering how great their opponent was.

Unofficially, the Irish had 353 yards of offense (all rushing), while the Jaguars had approximately 50 yards of net offense for the game.

With BL-H-S and Mayer Lutheran both getting wins tonight, the hopes for the Jaguars getting a home playoff game now rests on their chances of winning at Pierz next Wednesday night.
