Boys' basketball playoffs

Halftime boys' basketball scores tonight: 
Nevis 32, Upsala 27
Eden Valley-Watkins 27, Melrose Area 23

Nevis ultimately won Section 5A in a 60-50 win over Upsala.

And hats off to Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City as they earn a repeat trip to the state tournament with a 59-53 win over United South Central. Making the win more impressive is that the Falcons trailed 30-20 at halftime.  They are 21-9 overall and went 10-5 in the West Central South Conference to take first place.

*Update from St. Cloud State University: after trailing by four points at halftime, the Melrose Area Dutchmen have pulled in front 39-38 with 6:45 to go! Final: Melrose 50, EV-W 42. The Dutchmen are state-bound for the first time since 1974. The huge 40+ year drought is over.
