Verndale survived a scare from Kimball Area in the first semifinal match tonight in Long Prairie, winning 3-2 over the third-seeded Cubs.

The B-B-E vs. Browerville/Eagle Valley match will start much later than 6 o'clock. More like 19:00 or so.

Game one: the Tigers have an early 13-6 lead. The Jaguars fought back to a 23-22 deficit, but the Tigers got a kill and an ace serve to win it 25-22.

Game two: an early Jaguars lead of 4-1 evaporated...they now trail 10-8. The Tigers won 25-18 to put the Jaguars into a deep hole.

Game three: ....updates will follow at 8:30 p.m. Game three is going well but I don't want to jinx anything by posting a score. Final score: Jaguars 25, Tigers 20.

This is nerve-wracking!

Game four: the Jaguars went quietly in an ugly loss. I have nothing else to say. This concludes our fall sports in Jaguar Country.
