The trip home from Pierz had a celebratory mood tonight, with the B-B-E Jaguars volleyball team claiming the school's 13th conference championship since 1994. They earned that feat with a 3-2 win over the Pioneers (2-5, 9-14) to finish the Central Minnesota Conference season with a perfect 7-0 record. Game five was won by a 15-9 score after the Jaguars started out with an early 2-0 lead in games.
For the playoffs that begin next week, the Jaguars will begin with a 19-9 record and the top ranking in Sub-Section 5A-South.
Talk about incredible! Out of 28 seasons of B-B-E Jaguars volleyball, 13 of those teams have won or shared a conference title. Making it more impressive? In 27 of those 28 seasons of volleyball, B-B-E has been the smallest school in the conference.
Tomorrow seeding in Sub-Section 5A-South will be posted along with a playoff schedule.
