Opener success
The B-B-E Jaguars boys' basketball team had a great night in their season opener on Monday at Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg. After holding a 47-18 lead at halftime, they called off most of the attack in the second half and won by a final score of 67-36. The game was competitive for the first few minutes, but after trailing 6-4 with 15:50 left, the Jaguars reeled off a 13-0 run to earn a double-digit lead that they held the rest of the way.
The night also marked the debut of the very first sports broadcast for the Bonanza Valley Voice newspaper online streaming station. After some initial technical difficulties, the Internet stream became active about 10 minutes after tip-off and ran smoothly for the remainder of the game. You can read about this new feature and find the link here: http://www.bonanzavalleyvoice.com/story/2015/11/19/news/live-streaming-station/136.html. When the stream is not active, the video player will be dark and could show an error message.
Next for the Jaguars (1-0) is a trip to Morris on Tuesday this week to face the Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta Tigers at the Morris Area elementary school gymnasium. Their third game of the year is a non-conference game at Upsala on Tuesday, December 1.
