Bitter ending in section finals

The B-B-E Jaguars girls' basketball team could not have asked for a better first half in their second straight appearance in the Section 5A championship game. Against a high-octane, undefeated Menahga Braves team, the Jaguars utilized stifling defense to jump ahead 23-17 at halftime.

The second half, as they say, was a different story. After going up 25-17, the Jaguars gave up an 8-0 run that made it a new game.

A shot by Macie Kirckof with 3:05 left put the B-B-E Jaguars girls' basketball team ahead 47-46, but it would be the last lead of the night from that point on.

Here's video from the final minutes:

Final score: Menagha 56, B-B-E 52. Season over with a final record of 22-8, the most wins in school history. The Jaguars fall to 0-5 in section championship games. Very tough one to swallow.
