Summer playoffs

Two nights, two teams playing in their respective summer playoffs. And then add into the mix the Pope County Fair taking place over the next few days (Wednesday to Saturday) and you have a formula for an insanely busy time!

First, on Thursday night (July 19), the B-B-E Jaguars 17-U fastpitch team plays in the West Central League playoffs with a 5 p.m. game in Osakis. If they win, they play again in the semifinals that same night. I don't have more information than that.

On Friday at Osakis, the B-B-E Jaguars Legion baseball team faces Long Prairie-Grey Eagle to open up the Melrose Sub-District playoffs. Game time is 4 p.m. at Mackove Athletic complex. B-B-E is the No. 1 seed.

Later on Friday, the Elrosa Saints amateur baseball team faces Meire Grove in a Stearns County League North contest at 8 p.m.
