Two wins of vastly different complexions

The B-B-E Jaguars girls' basketball team defeated Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted by a 70-38 score tonight for their first Central Minnesota Conference win of the season. The Jaguars led 43-22 at halftime with Brittany Berge powering the offense in the first half with 15 points.

Next: the girls' basketball team has their second CMC game in two nights with a trip to Pierz (4-5, 2-2) tomorrow. The Pioneers lost at Holdingford tonight by a 67-31 score.

*Final score at Hancock! B-B-E boys' basketball 61, Hancock 60 in overtime! The score was tied 55-55 at the end of regulation. At halftime, B-B-E led 28-26 after they trailed 16-7 earlier in the first half. At that point, B-B-E had eight turnovers and just seven points.

Dylan Meyer earned Smooth Magic 107 FM's Stony Creek Dairy Play-of-the-Game award; the senior canned the game-winning three-point shot with 18 seconds left in the overtime session. Freshmen Ashton Dingmann earned the Lakeside Ballroom Player-of-the-Game award with 24 points and 13 rebounds.

For the game, the boys' basketball team shot 46 percent from the floor and nine of 16 three-point shots. Hancock shot 41 percent on field goals and made just five of 18 three-point attempts.

With the huge win, our boys' basketball team improves to 5-2, while the Owls fall to 6-1 overall. The win capped a three-game sweep for all three B-B-E squads, with the C-squad and JV teams also beating their Owls counterparts.
