Volleyball starts 1-0

The B-B-E Jaguars volleyball team started the season 1-0 with a 3-0 win at Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City tonight. The win also counts as the opener for the Central Minnesota Conference schedule.

The scores of the first two sets were 26-24 and 25-14.

Then in game three, the Jaguars built an early 9-4 lead. That expanded to 12-5 before the Falcons scored two points. Shortly after that, Mueller's kill made it 15-7. The Falcons hit into the net for a 16-7 lead. A kill by Jones made it 18-8, and the Falcons called a timeout.

A kill by Rupp made it 22-11, and then the Falcons hit long for a 23-11 score. The live feed cut out briefly as the Jaguars scored the last point of the night. Final score: B-B-E 25, A-C-GC 11.

Here's a video clip taken at the end of game three:

Next: the Jaguars (1-0) travel to Kimball Area for a Saturday afternoon (October 10) match-up. After that, they host Paynesville Area next Tuesday night.

I have to point out again that volleyball matches are not open to the general public. Student-athletes can invite up to two spectators, and registration with the host school is required to attend.
