The team portion of the schedule for the B-B-E Jaguars girls' tennis team has concluded. The No. 6-seeded Jaguars traveled to No.3 -seeded Minnewaska Area last Thursday, October 7 for the quarterfinal round of the Section 6A tournament. The Lakers won 7-0, with the Jaguars seeing their season end with a record of 4-7. B-B-E's four wins equals the four-win season they enjoyed in 2019.
The Jaguars had at least six matches this fall affected by rain and weather. It was a season like I've never seen before. One match in which they were bearing down on a win was the week before Homecoming against Long Prairie-Grey Eagle/Upsala-Swanville Area. The match was tied at 2-2 before a huge rain storm blasted the high school athletic complex. That certainly could have been their fifth win of the year.
Minnewaska Area faces Osakis in the semifinals on Tuesday this week. The Silverstreaks ended Sauk Centre's season with a 7-0 quarterfinal round win.
Upper-bracket winners in the quarterfinals were No. 2-seeded New London-Spicer and No.1-seeded Litchfield.
