Step III: Jaguars advance with another sweep! To the next 'Ship! (VIDEOS*)

The B-B-E Jaguars volleyball team has earned a third straight sweep in the Sub-Section 6A-South tournament. They defeated Brandon-Evansville (17-11) tonight to advance to the Section 6A finals and a section title match for the fifth straight postseason!! How about that! THIS NEVER GETS OLD!

The Jaguars have won the sub-section volleyball crown in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021 and now 2022. Yes, that's right: five postseasons in a row!!! (No playoffs in 2020.)

How about our fans!!!! Can you say shock and awe!? The B-B-E student section was rocking the house in Fergus Falls! AND check out that monster ace block by Allie Dingmann at about the 3:30 mark in this video. That tied game one at 1-1 early in the match.

Game three tonight had a final score of 25-12. Brooklyn Fischer had two early kills and an ace block that gave the Jaguars a 6-1 lead to start game three. The Chargers cut the deficit to 10-6 and 11-7, but the Jaguars poured it on by scoring five of the next six points to take a 16-8 lead. Brandon-Evansville scored two straight points to make it 17-11 before the Jaguars closed out the game and match with a 7-1 run. They simply had too many weapons.

B-B-E (24-6 overall) now has an outstanding sub-section championship match record of 17-3. This is an incredible feat for a small school volleyball program! The last time B-B-E lost in a sub-section championship volleyball match was 2003, which was before any of our current team members were born.

The Jaguars had an outstanding night at the net with a 30.8 percent hitting efficiency. Brooklyn Fischer was red hot and led the team with 18 kills.

It's time to SAVOR this moment and MAKE THE MOST OF IT! Get on this bandwagon and make tracks back to Fergus Falls for the next round! (Details below) As I've said before this week, we are so incredibly blessed to have such talented and dedicated student-athletes at B-B-E. They play with passion and pride. It is marvelous! We are so proud of them. Let's keep this show rolling!

NEXT: the Jaguars play on Saturday night (November 5) back in Fergus Falls with a 7 p.m. first serve. They take on Henning (25-5). It will be an incredibly tough match. The Hornets are for real in every facet of the game with few weaknesses to speak of. In the latest Class 1A QRF power rankings, the Hornets are ranked No. 7, while the Jaguars are ranked No. 9. This makes Henning the slight "on-paper" favorite going into Saturday night. Henning regularly serves between 95 and 98 percent. They just don't hurt themselves. We will all have to be 10 times better than we were tonight, and we will be!

Around the area in volleyball playoff action tonight...
Sauk Centre lost in an upset 3-1 loss to St. Cloud Cathedral tonight in the Section 6AA semifinals at Sauk Rapids-Rice high school. Also in Section 6AA, Wadena-Deer Creek lost 3-2 to Pequot Lakes. In Sub-Section 3AA-North, the Paynesville Area Bulldogs ended Minnewaska Area's cinderella postseason run with a 3-1 win in their championship. The Lakers finish 13-15 overall. The Bulldogs (21-5) advance to the Section 3AA championship for the second straight year and second time overall in Paynesville history. Standing in the path of their first-ever state tournament volleyball trip is Pipestone Area, who won 3-0 tonight against Windom Area in the Sub-Section 3AA-South championship. In the latest Class 2A QRF power rankings, Pipestone Area is ranked No. 9, while Paynesville Area is ranked No. 21.

Up in Section 5A...
Pine River-Backus has advanced to the Section 5A title match after they swept Verndale last night in their subsection finals. The PR-B Tigers (26-4) will play Mille Lacs (24-5) for the right to go to the state tournament. One of PR-B's four losses was at the hands of our Jaguars, who won 3-0 over the Tigers in Brooten on September 20.
