The Voice Winter Sports Show No. 7! and basketball and wrestling...(VIDEOS!)

Thursday morning note: I have added a few basketball clips plus one wrestling clip to the bottom of this post...

If you haven't heard already, the Christmas break started early in Jaguar Country...today school was dismissed at 1 p.m....and the kids won't be back until January 3! Tomorrow's school day was effectively "erased" from the calendar and will not be made up. Also, no games tomorrow night either...both basketball teams lose one game each, and it is unclear if either will be made up (both are non-conference). This is unfortunate, but it cannot be helped.

In the video, I allude to one of my newspaper columns this week that highlights the life of a 100-year old resident of Jaguar Country. She has a special connection to one of our local varsity student athletes. I hope you get a chance to read it all in the newspaper.

I finally dug out more accurate information on wrestling last night...Carson Gilbert won a 3-2 decision against Paynesville's Hemmesch. Unofficially, it has been a "long time" since Gilbert defeated him, so that was a satisfying win! The team won that dual 35-32 to even their record at 2-2 overall. Against Kimball Area, the Jaguars won 48-27 and not 48-21 as I had previously stated.

More to come later this afternoon. I will add full recaps of the wrestling wins last night and hopefully get some video clips added. Stay tuned! And stay warm!!!

I'm switching over to wrestling and will get video posted on Thursday morning. Also! I have found three unfortunate errors and/or omissions in this week's newspaper. AHHHHHHHHH. One was minor and got really glossed over while I was proofreading the 16 pages. Another was a HUGE mistake when I forgot to add in my varsity boys' basketball story based on their Holdingford win last Friday.

**The Upsala girls' basketball game and the Minnewaska boys' basketball game are postponed to January 17! Spread the word!!
