Both varsity hoops teams win on the road (UPDATED)
**This blog post was updated no Wednesday with a complete area scoreboard plus CMC scores...
In a Central Minnesota Conference match up on the road tonight, the B-B-E Jaguars boys' basketball team picked up a 69-50 win at Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City. The Jaguars led 33-27 at halftime and 57-44 with 7:18 left. Pacing the Jaguars was Kaden Pieper with 28 points.
The boys' basketball team is in action again on Friday this week in CMC action when they host Maple Lake. The varsity game should begin at about 7:30 p.m., as it will follow a girls' basketball game that also takes place at the elementary school. Due to the referee shortage, B-B-E is utilizing one referee crew for both varsity games that will be played in Brooten.
In a non-conference border battle tonight, the B-B-E Jaguars girls' basketball team picked up a hard-fought 55-41 win at Minnewaska Area. After building a 34-20 lead at halftime, the Jaguars punched ahead 39-21 with just over two minutes played in the second half. They went cold over a 7-minute period, however, before snapping out of it and keeping the Lakers at bay. With 6:39 left in the game, they led 50-32.
Next: the girls' basketball team (6-1, 2-1) travels to Royalton (5-4, 2-0) on Thursday this week for a CMC game. Their CMC game against A-C-GC (2-6, 1-2) on Friday will be played in Brooten with a 6 p.m. tip-off.
