Jaguars football heading to Bagley (Updates)
It's a little after 3 p.m., and the B-B-E Jaguars football team is bearing down on Bagley high school in northern Minnesota for their highly-anticipated 2023 season opener. The Bonanza Valley Voice newspaper's sports department (me) will be departing very soon! I will be traveling northwest to Parkers Prairie and basically due north all the way to the destination.
B-B-E went 7-3 overall last year. They started 0-1 and then rebounded to take a 6-2 record into the Section 4A playoffs. Tonight we will see if they can start 1-0!
Here's a video from the end of practice on Wednesday this week...
Coach Moscho announced the results of team voting for the captains of the team this year, which is featured in that video. This year, for the first time in his coaching career, the Jaguars will have six captains leading the team. Captains this year are Luke Dingmann, Maximus Hanson, Toby Cebulla, Ryan Jensen, Brett DeRoo and Braeden Michels.
Time to pack up and leave! I'll get game updates posted here in this blog post. Also, I hope to get updates from Delano with the Elrosa Saints state tournament game.
GAME updates...
In the middle of the first quarter, the Jaguars are ahead 12 to 0 with one defensive touchdown to their credit so far.
**End of the first quarter: B-B-E 20, Bagley 0.
With 5:12 left before halftime, the Jaguars are ahead 34-0, and the Flyers are currently on 4th and 5 at midfield on their 6th possession of the game.
**Halftime: B-B-E 34, Bagley 0.
MORE TO COME in a new blog post! After the game.
THANK YOU to Bonanza Valley State Bank and Coop's Corner for sponsoring this blog post and doing their part to keep the newspaper's sports department going!
