Step I: a sweeping success! (VIDEOS)


On playoff-opening night, the B-B-E Jaguars volleyball team found success early and often against Ortonville in the Sub-Section 6A-South quarterfinals. With a supportive hometown crowd cheering them on, the Jaguars dismantled the Trojans 25-9 in game one while hitting 44 percent. The final game scores in the 3-0 sweep were 25-14, 25-15.

For the night, the Jaguars hit at 32 percent while racking up 16 ace serves.

Ortonville, which had just one senior in its top rotation, finishes 7-17 overall.

NEXT: the Jaguars (22-5-1) host the Sub-Section 6A-South semifinals on Friday this week at 7 p.m. in Brooten. They face either Brandon-Evansville or Hancock. The Chargers were up 2-0 in sets over the Owls at the last time I checked. More to come here with multiple updates and video after 9 p.m.!! UPDATE: the Jaguars will host Brandon-Evansville on Friday this week for Round Two of the postseason. The Chargers swept Hancock tonight to advance to the semifinal round with an 11-11 overall record.
