Volleyball fourth at Alexandria
The B-B-E Jaguars volleyball team finished a grueling week that included a big subsection match plus a conference and rivalry battle with a trip to the Alexandria tournament on Saturday, October 7.
After two pool play wins, the Jaguars settled split in two sets against Ada Borup-West to move into the third-place match. In that final match, the Jaguars lost to Hopkins to take fourth place.
Tonight (Monday) the Jaguars (19-5) host Brandon-Evansville for Seniors Night. The Seniors Night presentation should get started shortly after 6:30 p.m.
I have corrected the state tournament record for B-B-E teams...last week I said we've been in 20 team state tournaments, but I have to add one more to get that number to 21...the 2019 paired B-B-E/Minnewaska Area Bluejackets girls' golf team advanced to the Class 2A state meet and finished in second place. A huge achievement for the program! Then-junior Jacqueline Gossen was a member of that squad.
ALSO! This was just submitted by a newspaper reader...
Lost: Homemade steel post pounder. Sunday afternoon on Railroad St or Lowery avenue in Belgrade. Please call 320-249-1554 if you found it. Thanks.
Today the JV football Jaguars travel to Browerville for their fifth game of the season. They suffered their first loss of the year last week to Upsala/Swanville Area in a low-scoring game. I don't recall the final score, but I believer it was just a one-score difference. Also quite noteworthy: the junior high football team took their first loss of the year to fall to 4-1 overall when they were defeated 30-20 last Thursday in Kimball. Overall the football program is having their best fall in school history by leaps and bounds!!! This is terrific.
**Tonight's volleyball match will be aired on the Glenwood radio station. I have a school board meeting in Belgrade.
