Brooten Legion Post 288 wins playoff opener

On Monday night in the American Legion high school baseball playoff opener, Brooten Post No. 288 defeated Sauk Centre 10-0 on Monday in Elrosa. This advances them into the double-elimination format of the postseason. They now face top-seeded Glenwood-Lowry on Thursday this week at Minnewaska Area's Marthaler Field stadium at 6 p.m. Brooten is the No. 2 seed, while Sauk Centre was the No. 3 seed. In the fourth spot of our sub-pod of the West Central Division II playoffs is Osakis.
