Back in the win column (VIDEO)
A convincing 9-1 win against Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg tonight was just what the B-B-E Jaguars baseball team needed tonight. The non-conference win at Willie Reigstad Field in Sunburg helped them move past the tough loss yesterday to Holdingford. Next is a home game with Paynesville on Monday in Elrosa at 4 p.m.
Against the Fighting Saints, the Jaguars racked up 12 hits, while three B-B-E pitchers combined to hold K-M-S to 3 hits. Ethan Mueller started and pitched the first inning, and Jace Mueller followed with 4 innings on the mound. Hayden Sobiech was the closer with 2 innings, and it marked his first time on the mound since the 2023 season. Sobiech was "lights out" with 26 pitches thrown, no hits, no runs, no walks and 4 strikeouts.
Earning 2 hits each were Ethan Mueller, Lance Radermacher and Jack Lundberg.
Here's a video from Sunburg this evening:
Action in the video begins with the start of the top of the 5th inning.
Overall, B-B-E is 5-4 going into next week.
More to come later tonight, including a girls' golf update. Today and tonight have included a crazy stretch of work. Much left to do tonight in preparation for tomorrow! A big, big day!
In the lone Central Minnesota Conference games I saw on the scoreboard tonight, Maple Lake defeated visiting Eden Valley-Watkins by a 7-5 score in the second game of a doubleheader. In game one, EV-W won 4-3.
