GAME DAY! Yes, back west in Stevens County!

Side note: because I got sidetracked by visiting too long with a handful of children of the late Ozzie and Ruth Stepan at the Brooten Pavilion on Memorial Day, I arrived at the Belgrade VFW Memorial Day program about 3 minutes after it started. However, as anyone who knows any of the Stepan children, time spent visiting with any of them is about the best way anyone could spend their time!

And in sports news...today is the big day!
This is the day our B-B-E Jaguars baseball team has worked towards for the past 12 months. One year ago, the Jaguars suffered a gut-wrenching 11-10 extra-inning loss in the opening game of the Section 6A championship series. That loss ended their season. The victor that day was Parkers Prairie, who just happens to be their opponent today in Morris. The Jaguars and Panthers meet today at Chizek Field at 2:30 p.m. in what will hopefully be back-to-back playoff games. The Jaguars have to beat the Panthers in the 2:30 game in order to force a true winner-take-all game. The loser is done with the Section 6A runner-up trophy to show for it, while the winner of today's series gets a trip to the Class 1A state baseball tournament that takes place next week.

I still have a great deal to get done before heading west to Morris. Today's game will be aired on Smooth Magic 107 FM of Glenwood. They are at 107.1 FM on the radio dial, and they also stream online at https://www.kmgk1071.com. Game updates will be posted at this blog post after the first game gets rolling. After 4 innings, the score is tied 1-1. Brett DeRoo scored B-B-E's run in the top of the 3rd inning.
