GAME NIGHT! In Jaguar Country! (*UPDATES!)

This is GAME NIGHT in Jaguar Country!

The B-B-E Jaguars football team will open the season at home with New York Mills in a non-district game. The NYM Eagles come to town with a roster of 34 players, while the Jaguars are dressing 28 student-athletes. The Eagles were 4-6 a year ago with one playoff win. Both teams suffered heavy graduation losses, although NYM returns one talented running back with ample experience in the backfield (Finn Roder, a senior).

Game updates to follow!
70e Jaguars had the ball on the game's first series, and they struggled with one fumble and an incomplete pass leading to a punt after a net loss of 3 yards. New York Mills started at their own 30 but suffered from multiple penalties. On 3rd-and-17, Lance Radermacher intercepted a NYM pass, giving the Jaguars the ball with 7:54 left in the opening quarter. Their second series started on their own 35, and they needed just 3 plays to get into the endzone. Kameron Hiltner hauled in a 70-yard touchdown pass from Aiden Mueller, and the Jaguars led 6-0 with 6:47 on the clock.

NYM tied the game with 2:33 left in the first quarter, but the Jaguars scored twice in the second quarter to take control before halftime.

At halftime: B-B-E 18, NYM 6.

The final score will be posted in a new blog post.
