In girls' tennis action today...
The B-B-E Jaguars girls' tennis team competed in the Prairie Conference tournament at Osakis. The tournament featured 6 total teams with Benson/Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg joining the Prairie this fall for the first time ever. I haven't had a chance to look deep through the results. At No. 1 singles, Skylar Knight-DeWeerd won a close battle by a 7-5, 6-4 score over Long Prairie-Grey Eagle/Upsala-Swanville Area's Reagan Larsen. At No. 2 singles, Ellan Fischer picked up a 6-1, 3-6, 10-6 win over St. John's Prep's Lucy Bechtold. At No. 4 singles, Kwynn Quade won 7-5, 6-4 over Lola Spychala of St. John's Prep.

At No. 1 doubles, Grace Berndt and Hannah Wurm won 6-4, 6-3 over LPGE/USA's Addison Hovland and Brynlee Ostendorf. At No. 3 doubles, Jena Borgerding and Harper Herickhoff won 7-6 (10-2), 6-0 over LPGE/USA's Jada Stocco/Peyton Remer.

Here's a short video featuring No. 3 doubles action in Osakis:

That doubles match was from the opening round and featured B-B-E seventh graders Harper Herickhoff and Jena Borgerding facing LPGE/USA. The video was from the first set tiebreaker.

The girls' tennis team hosts LPGE/USA next Monday to officially kick off B-B-E's Homecoming week. The Jaguars and Thunder square off starting at 3 p.m. in Belgrade.
