Today is a sunny day, get outside!

It's exciting to report that turnout was terrific for events held yesterday in Swift Falls and Sedan. The Turkey Fest, sponsored by Brink's Beer Joint, drew a great crowed to Swift Falls who were centered around a turkey cook-off contest that had 6 families participating. The cooked turkey was very good. In the evening in Sedan, the Sedan Fire and Rescue squad hosted a 40-gun raffle that had almost a packed house at the bar.

Here's a video from the first half of the Browerville game:

On Saturday, the area of Brooten received about 1.5 inches of rain. None of it was needed! It got me out of watering vegetables in the garden, but the rain was very unwelcome for area farmers.

It's way too nice outside today to spend any more time blogging. I hope you can get out and enjoy today's strong sunshine.

I found this interesting...for current MSHSL enrollment figures, which is used to determine what playoff class a school competes in, we see B-B-E has a grades 9-12 figure of 161. For neighboring K-M-S, they have a grades 9-12 figure of 209. That's substantially bigger. It is a bigger number by 29.8 percent! That represents 48 more students who theoretically could play MSHSL sports along with other school activities. For K-M-S's football team, it pits them in Class 2A, where they are at a huge, huge disadvantage. They recently played St. Cloud Cathedral, whose grades 9-12 enrollment is 307. Good grief! That's 98 more students in those grades, which is almost 47 percent bigger. The Fighting Saints vs. SCC Crusaders game did not go well; K-M-S lost in Week 3 to the Crusaders 55-8.
