Jaguars sweep Owls (VIDEOS)
In a Section 6A match up with the Hancock Owls, the B-B-E Jaguars volleyball team played through an emotional Parents and Seniors Night on the home floor. While the night wasn't smooth, the result was what they wanted: B-B-E 3, Hancock 0. All three sets were close, and the Jaguars really didn't find their groove until the middle of the second set.
Game scores were 25-21, 25-20, 25-22.
Here's a video from the second set tonight against Hancock:
In game two, the Jaguars recovered from an 0-2 deficit and built a 12-6 lead. The Owls scored 4 straight points, but the Jaguars got back into system with an assisted block by Kadynce Haider and Kamie Fischer, Makenna Roelike's ace serve and a kill from McKinley Haider for a 16-10 lead. After the lead grew to 22-14, the teams traded side outs. Teagan Dingmann's kill made it a 23-15 lead, but the Owls went on a 5-0 run. A Hancock service error and an ace serve from Kacey Fischer finished off the set.
Here's the last few points scored in game two:
Now 13-5 overall, the Jaguars prepare for a tough Paynesville Area squad, who comes to Brooten on Thursday this week. It will be B-B-E's first Central Minnesota Conference action since September 18, when they won in Grove City.
Hancock, with a roster including 6 seniors, falls to 9-12 overall. They were scrappy the entire night, and their hitting looked strong when they were in system.
That's all for now. It appears that there's a 99% chance I have to add 2 more pages to this week's Bonanza Valley Voice newspaper. I have a long night ahead of me.
Please continue praying for B-B-E's students and staff.
On to Wednesday...the newspaper is off to the press...
It was a nailbiter, but the newspaper was completed and off to the press on schedule this morning. It was a tough one to put together. I did not have time to stretch it to 16 pages. Today will bring two big stops on my schedule: the girls' tennis playoffs at Long Prairie and Levi Adrian's visitation at the funeral home in Belgrade.
The Powder Puff flag football photos have been uploaded, here's the link to find that: https://shorturl.at/fdIVW.
