Jaguars Boys Basketball Takes Paynesville Down to the Wire, 63-62 Loss in the Final Seconds

The Jaguars boys basketball team (4-3) opened the January part of their 2007-2008 season with a road game at Paynesville. The Bulldogs entered the game with a 4-1 record, losing only to state-ranked New London-Spicer by an 81-63 score on December 21.

The Jaguars fell behind by a big deficit (29-13) before rallying to close the first half down 32-25.

The Jaguars tied the game at 45-45, then built a 5-point lead at 53-48, only to lose their lead with 1:00 left.

Down the stretch, the game resembled "war"...it was all-out in the final minutes, and fans most definitely got their money's worth.

At halftime, the Jaguars girls danceline unveiled their 2007-2008 edition, participating in a "dance-off" against the Paynesville Bulldogs danceline. The Jaguars looked very sharp in their second performance of the year, and will carry on the season this Saturday at the NL-S Invitational.

The game was carried on 107.1 FM of Glenwood.

Tomorrow (Tuesday) the Jaguars girls basketball team (4-4, 2-1 CMC) entertains Holdingford (5-5, 1-2 CMC) in a home game, their fourth CMC game of the season.

The Jaguars boys basketball team is next in action at home this Thursday night against Pierz to open up the Central Minnesota Conference schedule.
