Jaguars Boys Track team has strong 5th-place showing at Paynesville Invitational on Thursday

The Jaguars boys track team got its first taste of outdoors competition on Thursday afternoon when they participated in the Paynesville Invitational. The Jaguars beat New London-Spicer, Eden Valley-Watkins, and Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted, totaling 71 team points.

They were led by Levi Anderson, Jackson Illies, and the 4 x 100-meter relay team, who took first place with a time of 45.07 seconds. Anderson won the 100-meter sprint with a time of 11.34 seconds.

The Jaguars girls track team placed 7th with 38.5 team points. They were led by Heidi Lensing's first place performances in the 200-meter sprint (27.19 seconds), the long jump (15-6 1/2), and the high jump (5-4)...the standout senior three-sport athlete is in her fourth year of varsity competition for the Jaguars track team.

Coming up next week... the Jaguars baseball team is set to open their 2009 season when they host Eden Valley-Watkins at Elrosa. The game is set for 4:30.
