Elrosa Saints open season with 9-8 loss at powerhouse Raymond - Friday prep scores posted

The Elrosa Saints amateur baseball team opened the 2009 season with a 9-8 loss at Raymond. The Rockets are an area amateur baseball powerhouse.

Two big games took place on Friday involving Section 5A teams...
In fastpitch, the Maple Lake Irish hosted Osakis and blanked the Silverstreaks 6-0. In baseball, Royalton fell at Eden Valley-Watkins 11-3, with both teams now sitting at 9-2 overall. Maple Lake and Eden Valley-Watkins emerged as the top teams in their respective sub-sections.

Holdingford knocked off Pierz 9-8 in baseball on Friday. The game was held in Pierz. The loss was the second of the season for the Pioneers in CMC play in a span of 2 days. Pierz is now 6-2 in the league and 8-2 overall, tied with Maple Lake for second place in the league. Eden Valley-Watkins takes over sole possession of first place in the CMC with their 7-1 record.
