Jaguars Volleyball improves to 5-0 in the Central Minnesota Conference with sweep at Eden Valley; beating Kimball next week clinches title outright
The Jaguars Volleyball team is now 20-5 overall going into the final two weeks of the regular season. It's the seventh straight season that the Jaguars have won 20 or more regular season matches. The record is 26-1, set in 2008.
Last night, the Jaguars overpowered a struggling Eden Valley-Watkins team on the Eagles' floor, winning in three games.
Up next: a road trip up the short distance to neighboring Minnewaska Area on Monday night for a non-conference match against the 8-13-1 Lakers.
Next Tuesday, the Jaguars will host Kimball Area in a CMC championship match, in which a win will clinch a share of the CMC crown for the Jaguars. The Cubs are 14-5 overall and 4-1 in the CMC. Their lone CMC loss was at Pierz on September 10.
The Maple Lake Irish picked up a big CMC win last night against Pierz, winning 3-1 on their home court. The Irish improve to 12-5 overall and 3-2 in the CMC, with Pierz falling into a third-place tie with the Irish in the league. Pierz is 20-7 overall. Both are highly ranked within their respective sub-sections with only a few matches left in the regular season.
