Jaguars boys basketball leads WCA 41-32 at halftime - scorches the nets in an 86-58 win

West Central Area, who is a solid Class AA team that plays in the Heart O' Lakes Conference, hung around with the Jaguars in the first half tonight, trailing 41-32 at the break after holding a lead through 12 minutes of play.

The Jaguars pulled away in the second half, tearing up the court while outscoring the Knights by a 45-27 margin. They scored the final nine points of the game.

Final score from A-C-GC high school tonight: B-B-E 86, WCA 58. The Knights fall to 3-2 overall, while the Jaguars improved to 5-0. Five Jaguars hit double figures in the blowout win. The Knights shot (19-48) 40% while the Jaguars hit (33-64) 52% of their shots (68% from two point range, 28-of-41).

The Jaguars are next in action on Monday night, when they host neighboring rival Paynesville Area in a non-conference game. The Bulldogs don't have the greatest squad this year, but as a rule you always throw the records out when these two teams meet.

That game will be aired on both 106.5FM The Train as well as Smooth Magic 107.1FM of Glenwood. Pre-game coverage begins at 7:15pm.
