A few notes on the HL-W-W Lakers' boys basketball win over pre-season Section 5AA favorite Watertown-Mayer tonight, courtesy of Howard Lake Herald Journal sports reporter Aaron Schultz... "HLWW was down by 15 to 20 midway through the second half, and then pressed, and made a comeback, capped by a 3-pointer by Corey Whitcomb with 2 seconds left to play. Was a pretty exciting game. The Lakers just kept chipping away. W-M missed free throws, and turned the ball over quit a bit in the second half." HL-W-W trailed by 10 at halftime. Jett Leaf led the Lakers with 31 points, Quin Leaf drained 20. A great game by both teams.
