An incredible game is underway at Parkers Prairie - the Jaguar girls are in it the whole way but lose in the final minute

After allowing #2-seed Parkers Prairie to jump out of the gates to an early 9-2 lead, the 7th-seeded Jaguars girls basketball team stormed back to lead 34-31 at halftime.

A close second half is playing out now, with the Panthers coming back to tie the game 42-42 with under 12 minutes remaining.

With one minute left, the Jaguars hold a 60-59 lead. They lost senior point guard Julie Hieserich to five fouls with three minutes left in the game.

Final score: Parkers Prairie 66, B-B-E 62. It is their most heartbreaking playoff loss since the 2005 section championship game, when they lost 57-51 to Underwood.

The Jaguars finish a great season with a final record of 14-13 overall, including an 8-6 mark in the Central Minnesota Conference. The 14 wins is the third-most for the Jaguar girls since 1994-1995, when they went 20-7. Other high-win seasons came three and four years ago, when they totaled 18 wins, and in 1996-97 with 16 wins. Beyond those two seasons, the most wins the Jaguars have earned since 1995 is 12.

Parkers Prairie improves to 23-3 and will face #3 seed Underwood on Saturday night in Morris. The other sub-section semifinal game will feature top-seeded Hancock taking on #4 seed Hillcrest Lutheran Academy.

The Train (106.5FM) was unable to carry the game - no word yet on what happened. I'm at home sick, so hopefully the radio crew is in better shape than I am.

More will follow in the morning.
