Jaguar boys basketball playoff game is on the radio - take your pick - three stations covering them!

The Sub-Section 6A-South semifinal game between the Jaguars boys basketball team and Brandon/Evansville will be aired on three radio stations on Saturday night: The Train 106.5 FM, KKOK 95.7 FM, and Smooth Magic 107.1 FM. That's an awesome amount of radio coverage! You can grab the Jaguars online if you can't get any of the radio stations where you'll be at by visiting the Smooth Magic 107 website: http://www.kmgk1071.com

Girls basketball playoff updates...
I have to give props to the Alexandria girls basketball team, who edged Fergus Falls 46-40 in the Section 8AAA championship game. The Cardinals struggled mightily in the first half and trailed by five to 10 points at some points going into halftime.

Minneota won the Section 3A girls basketball title, defeating Fulda 62-59. In Section 3AA, Jackson County Central won 57-41 over Yellow Medicine East to advance to state.

Section 6AA championship at SCSU: Sauk Centre 78, Staples-Motley 58. The Streeters trailed 8-2 right out of the gates, then fought back to take a 28-23 lead at the break. They open the state tournament on Wednesday at 6pm at Target Center against Section 1AA champion Caledonia (26-3).

Eden Valley-Watkins, who was co-champion of the Central Minnesota Conference this season with Pierz (10-4), played a great game but ultimately lost 35-19 to heavily-favored Providence Academy in the Section 5AA championship game. (Yeah, great, another private school swiping an out-state section championship)

The Hancock vs. Ada-Borup game will begin at 3:00pm on Saturday at Concordia College in Moorhead. The game was moved from Friday night due to bad weather.

And let me tell you, it was VERY BAD out there tonight. I have generally been lucky enough to avoid driving in white-out conditions, but on the way home from Sauk Centre after watching the Streeters girls basketball team win another section title, my '91 Chevy Lumina had the odds stacked against it while getting me back to Glenwood. It was not fun.

I hope everyone in B-B-E Jaguar country is at home right now, safe and sound.
