Jaguars fastpitch wins in five innings today

The Jaguars fastpitch team won 15-4 in five innings over St. John's Prep on the home diamond today.

Now 2-8 overall, the Jaguars travel to Holdingford on Tuesday to face the Central Minnesota Conference-leading Huskers. First pitch is set for 4:30 p.m. Holdingford's fastpitch team is 6-0 overall after defeating one of their top rivals in Section 6AA, Albany, by a 4-2 score. Albany fell to 9-2 with the loss. Holdingford is 5-0 in the CMC, the only fastpitch team without a loss in conference play.

Maple Lake, the CMC champion for the last five seasons, has already been tagged with two losses in league action. Both losses were at the hands of Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted. HL-W-W is 4-1 in the CMC, with their only league loss coming from Rockford by a 7-4 score on April 21. Rockford is 4-4 overall and 3-3 in the CMC.

**Also coming up on Tuesday...the annual Belgrade Lions' track and field invitational. Anywhere from one to two dozen Belgrade Lions Club members will be assisting the B-B-E track and field coaching staff to pull off the 11-team invitational. Teams included are Eden Valley-Watkins/Kimball Area, Hancock, Holdingford, Maple Lake, Osakis, Rockford Area, Royalton, Saint John's Prep, Sauk Centre and Paynesville Area.

The Jaguars baseball team hosts Holdingford at 4:30 p.m. in Elrosa. The Huskers are the only undefeated team in the CMC as of May 2 at 5-0. They are 7-1 overall, with their only loss coming on April 12 at the hands of Little Falls by an 11-0 score.
