Jaguars fall behind 26-0 vs. Kimball in section wrestling playoffs
Through the 132-pound match, the Kimball Area Cubs jumped out to a 26-0 lead over the Jaguars wrestling team in tonight's Section 5A semifinal. By the time the 195-pound match was starting, the Cubs had built a 44-6 lead. Picking up wins for B-B-E were sophomore Alex Schramel at 138 pounds (7-5 decision) and junior Patrick Rooney at 170 pounds (7-3 decision).
The match is taking place at the Minnewaska Area High School.
Final: Kimball Area 59, B-B-E 6. The Cubs are 31-1; the Jaguars finish 11-9. Both teams will compete in the individual portion of the Section 5A playoffs next Friday and Saturday at Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted middle school in Howard Lake.
In the other semifinal tonight, #2-seed A-C-GC leads 45-6 through the 195-pound match over #3-seed Paynesville Area.

**Update in the Section 5A wrestling championship: Kimball Area jumped ahead 16-6 through the 138-pound match, and then the A-C-GC Falcons tied it 16-16 going into 152. The Cubs (32-0) would pull away in dramatic fashion, though, to lead 45-16 going into the heavyweight match. They likely will draw the #2 seed at the Class A state tournament.
