Wouldn't you know it...Pierz stubs its toe at Maple Lake

In a rather surprising upset, the Maple Lake boys' basketball team defeated visiting Pierz tonight 66-63. The Pioneers fall two games behind the B-B-E Jaguars in the Central Minnesota Conference at 9-2. The Jaguars are 11-0 and now only need one more conference win to clinch a share of their fourth straight conference title.

That win very well could come this Friday at Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted.

The Irish improved to 6-5 (4th) in the CMC and 11-10 overall. Pierz is 17-6 overall.
