Jaguar volleyball takes first two matches at Willmar

In their opening-round match of the Willmar Cardinal Classic tournament, the B-B-E Jaguars volleyball team defeated Sauk Rapids-Rice 2-0. SR-R is 2-7 in the tough Central Lakes Conference and now 8-11 overall after that loss.

In round two of pool play, the Jaguars beat Annandale to improve to 13-3 on the season. The Cardinals entered today's tournament with an 0-7 mark in the Wright County Conference and a 6-12 overall record.

They faced Central Minnesota Christian of Prinsburg in their final pool play match. CMCS (4-3 Camden Conference, 10-6) was state-ranked earlier in the season but is no longer in the Class A Top 10.

**Update: the Jaguars (15-4) lost to CMC-Prinsburg, but after all pool play matches were completed the Jaguars ended up advancing to the championship match to face Willmar. They swept the Cardinals to finish 4-1 on the day.

More will be posted on Sunday.
