Friday Night Lights Part IX: Jaguars lead at halftime 19-8 in playoff opener!

The Jaguars celebrate their third straight win in a playoff opener!

The Jaguars football team scored on their first two possessions tonight against visiting MACCRAY to take an early 13-0 lead tonight. The Wolverines (2-6) responded with a touchdown of their own, and at halftime B-B-E has a 19-8 lead in the Section 4A quarterfinals.


The entire first half was played through a steady but light mist and drizzle.

Tonight is the first time the Jaguars hosted a playoff-opening game since 2008, when they beat Lakeview 28-20.  The Jaguars finished with 325 yards rushing and 59 yards passing.

Final score tonight: B-B-E 34, MACCRAY 8. Now 5-4 overall, the Jaguars advance to the section semifinals to face Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity on Saturday night. The Bulldogs (8-1) beat Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart 45-12 tonight in their quarterfinal game. BL-H-S finishes the season 1-8 overall; they were the #7 seed in Section 4A.
