Jaguars are crushing the Chargers

I haven't heard an update out of the wrestling match at the high school, but the Jaguars boys' basketball team is crushing Brandon/Evansville in a non-conference game at the elementary. At halftime, the Jaguars have a 43-17 lead.

Three minutes into the 2nd half at Minnewaska Area, the MA/CA Tigers lead 30-24 in a West Central North Conference boys' basketball game. D-Mac has the call on that game on Smooth Magic 107 FM.

Area halftime scores tonight:
Boys'BB: at Benson, NL-S has a 39-32 lead
Girls'BB: at Olivia, Sauk Centre has a 29-22 lead
Girls'BB: at New London, NL-S has a 31-29 lead over #9-ranked Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted

Final score: B-B-E Jaguars boys' basketball 70, B/E Chargers 26. Brandon/Evansville scored only nine second-half points. Get a look at this: the Jaguars shot 59% from the floor overall and 62% inside the arc. Overall, 11 Jaguars put their name in the scoring column.

The Chargers shot 1-for-15 on the three-point line, clearly trying to loosen up the B-B-E zone to no avail.

Last season, the fewest points given up to a team was in the final of two Holdingford wins with an 85-25 final score on March 2 in the second-to-last regular season game.

I gotta say about tonight's B-B-E game, Wow!

Area boys' basketball final scores on December 7:
Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta 60, Minnewaska Area 48
New London-Spicer 71, Benson 53

Area girls' basketball final scores on December 7:
New London-Spicer 61, #9-ranked HL-W-W 60 (Lakers lose at ultra-tough Fort Knox)
#3 ranked Sauk Centre 64, BOLD 51 (Macy Weller limited to 6 points but Streeters still win)

More to follow later.
