Late three-point attempt to force a tie dances off the rim against Osakis

Peyton Miller (13) is a sophomore member of the Jaguars girls' basketball team who's had ample playing time off of the bench this season.

Out of a late B-B-E timeout called by Coach Anderson, Peyton Miller launched a three-pointer on a drawn play with 12 seconds left that would've forced a 43-43 tie if it didn't dance off of the rim. She got the shot off after getting through a double screen set by Becca Gruber and Megan Weller. After Osakis got the defensive rebound with 6 seconds left, B-B-E immediately fouled Annalise Savageau, a standout junior guard for the Silverstreaks. Savageau hit both ensuing free throw attempts to salt the 45-40 win for Osakis (7-0).

Great improvement from the beginning of the season is not on the horizon for the Jaguars - it is already here. The wins should soon follow. The Jaguars played their hearts out in this game against one of the top girls' basketball teams in the area. Only last week, Osakis took apart fellow sub-section rival Melrose in a 52-22 win last Thursday.
