Jr. High football goes 2-0 vs. EVW

Coach Schumann talks to his 7th grade troops after they won a nailbiter tonight.

The 8th graders won 38-14, while the 7th graders won 14-12. It was the season opener for both teams.

In the 7th grade game, the Jaguars scored first to take an early 7-0 lead. Eden Valley-Watkins came back with a touchdown of their own before halftime but missed the extra point attempt. In the second half, the Jaguars scored again and got the extra point to go up 14-6, but the Eagles responded with a 4th-quarter touchdown and a 14-12 deficit. The Jaguars made numerous defensive stands with the Eagles threatening and came away with a special season-opening win. Ben Boie and Paris Mitchell scored the two touchdowns for B-B-E.

Here's a glimpse of the tail end of the 7th grade game. I had technical difficulties with my "Smartphone" that prevented me from getting a proper clip:

In the 8th grade game, Adam Jaeger had at least four touchdowns, and Isaiah Gilbert added another in the blowout win.
