Getting worse

Clearing the sidewalks on main street Brooten this morning.

I know one thing...had school started two hours late today, they'd be loaded and on their way home by noon for sure. The wind has been picking up since 11:00. By mid-afternoon it will be in the "violent" range...not good!

By 10:00 the temperature had plummeted to 10 degrees. Just 10 hours earlier, it was 36 degrees!

By 14:00 today the wind is "absolutely violent" in eastern Pope County. Three degrees above zero but still dropping with N/NW winds at 25 mph gusting up to 33 mph and higher.

While it took awhile longer than predicted to kick in, this blizzard has a full-throated roar about it.
