Katelyn Heinze gets high fives after she knocked down an ace block to end game one against EV-W with the Jaguars winning 25-22.

In their first Central Minnesota Conference match of the season, the Jaguars volleyball team defeated visiting Eden Valley-Watkins 25-22, 25-11, 25-13. After building a 14-7 lead in game one, the Jaguars slacked off and let the Eagles whittle the lead down to one point at 23-22. A kill from Kinlee Swanson and a block from Katelyn Heinze ended game one 25-22. EV-W never threatened in games two and three.

The Eagles are 0-3, while the Jaguars are 3-0. Next the Jaguars travel to Marshall for what will be a five-match tournament; they begin on Friday at 5:00 against Class AAA Eastview (1-1) and then a second opponent to be determined. Action continues on Saturday. I don't know much about Eastview; they were the Class AAA runners-up in 2008. This season their front line's height averages between 6-feet and 6'3" tall.

**Be sure to circle next Tuesday on your calendar. You'll want to take in the New London-Spicer volleyball match at home!! The Wildcats are off to a great start to the season with a 5-1 overall record.

Here's video from the EV-W match, featuring the first few points scored in game two; check out the monster block by Hailey Braegelman at the 2:10 mark!
