State fastpitch

Kimball Area, the Central Minnesota Conference champion, went 0-2 in their first appearance in the state tournament. They lost a heartbreaker to Mankato Loyola 7-3 in eight innings, then to New York Mills 5-2 in the consolation bracket. The Cubs finished 21-3 overall.

In Class 2A, former CMC member Rockford Area took third at state and finished a spectacular season with a 23-4 final record. The Rockets won the Wright County Conference West title with a 12-2 record.
