Volleyball in Willmar

The B-B-E Jaguars volleyball team had a strong showing at the Willmar Cardinal Classic tournament today. In pool play they started out the morning with an exciting 2-1 win over the neighboring rival New London-Spicer Wildcats. They swept Lakeview in the second round and then won 2-1 over Central Minnesota Christian-Prinsburg.

In the playoff semifinals, the Jaguars lost to Albany to finish the day with a 3-1 record. They are now 8-8 overall on the season.

Next: perhaps one of the biggest matches of the season on Thursday, September 29, when the state-ranked Maple Lake Irish visit our home gymnasium for a Central Minnesota Conference battle. Maple Lake is ranked no less than number one in Class 2A. They are 15-1 overall and were just tagged with their first loss of the season today when Kenyon-Wanamingo defeated them in the Class 2A Showcase tournament championship in Burnsville. The K-Y Knights are ranked No. 3 in the latest Class 2A polls and are 21-1 overall.

Currently Maple Lake and Kimball Area (10-7 overall) are the last undefeated teams in the CMC.

Needless to say, Thursday night's home match is HUGE!
