Basketball playoffs continue

Tonight at halftime, the B-B-E Jaguars boys' basketball team trails 30-26 to St. John's Prep in the Sub-Section 5A-South semifinals.

The Jaguars tied it at 30-30 after the break, and they held a 34-33 lead after that. With seven minutes left, the Johnnies lead 36-34.

With 2:26 left, the Jaguars have a 44-42 lead.

Final score: B-B-E 53, St. John's Prep 47. The Jaguars advance to the subsection finals for the fifth time in the last six seasons and 14th time overall in school history. The Sub-Section 5A-South championship game is Monday, March 12 at 7 p.m. at Foley high school; the opponent will be top-seeded Hinckley-Finlayson (24-4), who is averaging 77.8 points per game.

The Train 106.5 FM carried tonight's game.
