Jaguars win, Kirckof surpasses 1,000 points

At halftime, Pierz has a 30-29 lead over the B-B-E Jaguars girls' basketball team.

*Final score: B-B-E 65, Pierz 45. The Jaguars have 18 wins! Macie Kirckof joined the 1,000-point club early in the second half. She hit three consecutive shots while helping the Jaguars surge in front 35-33 in the first two minutes of play.

Pierz falls to 11-11 overall and 6-7 (fifth) in the Central Minnesota Conference.

Next: the Jaguars (18-5, 9-3) travel to Paynesville tomorrow night for a conference border battle.

In boys' basketball news, the B-B-E Jaguars boys' basketball team now sits in first place alone in the Central Minnesota Conference! At least for a day...! They have a tall task ahead with two CMC games in the next two days. Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted's half-game lead over the Jaguars disappeared tonight when Pierz won a shootout on HL-W-W's home floor tonight 81-62.
