Boys' basketball, Step II: Jaguars rattle Cardinals

The B-B-E Jaguars boys' basketball team earned their 16th win of the season tonight. They beat Upsala 65-51 in the sub-section semifinals. The game was close down the stretch, with Upsala as close as six points in the final two minutes.

Upsala finishes a strong season on the basketball court with a 15-13 overall record.

Next: the Sub-Section 5A-South finals on Wednesday this week, at Foley. Tip-off will be at 7 p.m. against top-seeded Hinckley-Finlayson (21-7). *Game time is now 6 p.m. in Foley!

The H-F Jaguars throttled Braham 77-55 in the initial semifinal game tonight at Foley. In the north half of Section 5A, state-ranked Cromwell-Wright survived a scare from Browerville and advances with a 47-42 win. Pine River-Backus, the No. 2 seed, suffered an upset loss to Nevis by a 54-52 loss.
