Town team begins

In their season debut, the Elrosa Saints amateur baseball team won 16-2 in seven innings today at Greenwald. Cody Eichers drilled a three-run home run in his first plate appearance, and James Kuefler also belted out a three-run homer to help power the offense.

Next in league action for the Saints is another Stearns County League North border battle with a trip to Spring Hill next Sunday. The Chargers were also victorious in their season opener today. They traveled to New Munich and came home with a 6-1 win.

At Lake Henry, Meire Grove squeezed out a 3-2 win.

• For B-B-E Jaguar varsity sports, the next home event is the Belgrade Lions track and field meet on Tuesday, April 30 (4 p.m.). Teams included are ACGC, Browerville, Eden Valley-Watkins/Kimball, Maple Lake, Minnewaska Area, Paynesville Area and St. John's Prep.
