State volleyball seeding, Rambow clothing store*!*

The B-B-E Jaguars volleyball team will go into the Class 1A state tournament unseeded and open with No. 3-seeded Medford on Thursday, November 7 at 3 p.m. at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.

The No. 7-ranked Medford Tigers are 24-8 overall after winning the Section 1A title for the second straight year. They prevailed in a five-game barn burner last night over No. 6-ranked Mabel-Canton (34-3). It was a great match that played out yesterday afternoon at the Rochester Civic Center. Game scores were 25-14, 25-23, 19-25, 20-25, 15-12.

Medford vanquished another Top 10 team in their sub-section finals when they beat No. 7-ranked Kenyon-Wanamingo by a 3-2 margin. (They were both tied for seventh in the final state poll of the season.)

The Medford vs. Kenyon-Wanamingo match had game scores of 25-17, 25-19, 24-26, 17-25, 17-15 back at the Rochester Civic Center on Halloween. We know full well how matches like those play out!!! Extra points in game five - you can't beat that for excitement!!!

Fun fact: in the 2018 Class 1A state quarterfinals, unseeded Medford upset No. 2-seeded Mayer Lutheran in a 3-2 match. The game five score was 19-17!!! Last year in the Class 1A state semifinals, the Tigers lost game one to our Jaguars by a 25-22 score. Next were three straight wins by Medford by scores of 25-19, 25-21 and 25-16. Medford then lost 3-0 to No. 1-seeded Minneota in the state title match (25-20, 25-14, 25-11).

State quarterfinal matches at 1 p.m. are as follows:
No. 1-seeded Minneota vs. Greenway
No. 4-seeded Mounds Park Academy vs. No. 5-seeded Fosston
State quarterfinal matches at 3 p.m. are as follows:
No. 3-seeded Medford vs. our B-B-E Jaguars
No. 2-seeded Waterville-Elysian-Morristown vs. Henning
