Basketball night

Game updates from the home boys' basketball game will follow. The B-B-E Jaguars boys' basketball team is hosting Kimball Area tonight.

*Update: early in the first half, the Jaguars have a slim 14-13 lead.

Halftime: B-B-E 28, Kimball Area 25.

Quickly in the second half, the Jaguars dropped the hammer on the Cubs with a scoring burst of a 9-0 run in the first 105 seconds of action. Kaden Pieper scored two buckets, including one three-pointer, to put the Jaguars ahead 37-25 with 16:15 left in the game.

At Osakis tonight, the B-B-E Jaguars girls' basketball team won 43-34 over the almost Prairie Conference-leading Silverstreaks. The Jaguars led 30-14 at halftime and then hung on through a tough second half. They were led by 11 points from Karissa Jones and 10 points from Allisa Knight. Osakis falls to 9-10 overall. They are currently 5-1 in their conference and trail Browerville by a half of a game.

Next: the home boys' and girls' doubleheader with visiting Browerville at the B-B-E high school tomorrow afternoon. The JV games begin at 1:30 p.m., and the varsity girls' game starts at 3 p.m. The varsity boys' game begins at 5 p.m.

Also tomorrow is a huge home youth wrestling tournament that includes a total of seven teams. Action begins at the B-B-E elementary school at 10:30 a.m.
