Border Battle sweep! (VIDEOS)

It was a border battle sweep tonight for the B-B-E Jaguars volleyball team! The Jaguars won 25-21 in game three to complete the 3-0 win over the New London-Spicer Wildcats. Scores of the first two games were 25-21 and 25-22. They were tough games from start to finish. The Jaguars had a superb night with 22 percent hitting as a team. Video is uploading.

The Jaguars led 2-0 right away in game one, but NL-S took a brief 4-3 lead before the Jaguars reeled off a 7-2 run. After NL-S cut it to 12-10, the Jaguars caught fire and went on a 9-2 run that forced the Wildcats to use both timeouts. After their second timeout, the Wildcats cut into a 21-12 deficit with four straight points before Ava Mueller tipped for an ace attack and a sideout. Brooklyn Fischer's ace block ended game one with a 25-21 score.

The Jaguars led 6-2 in game two before falling into a 6-6 tie. The Wildcats were on a 7-1 run that gave them a 9-7 lead. The lead changed hands a handful of times before the Jaguars gained traction and built a 21-16 lead. 

Trailing 24-20, the Wildcats scored two straight points before Mueller finished game two with a kill that gave the Jaguars a 25-22 win.  

NL-S maintained slim leads throughout a huge portion of game three. They led 5-2, 8-5 and then 13-8 before B-B-E called their first timeout. The Jaguars then scored 6 of the next 8 points to cut it down to 15-14. The momentum had shifted, and the Jaguars soon led 19-16. NL-S cut that deficit down to one point at 19-18, 20-19, 21-20 and 22-21. The Jaguars then scored the final three points to close out the huge border battle sweep!

Next: the Jaguars (3-0) put their undefeated record on the line with another home match as they open up the Central Minnesota Conference on Thursday night with Holdingford.

More great news! The B-B-E Jaguars JV football team won 22-0 at Murdock tonight against K-M-S in the teams' season opener. They are 1-0! They host Maple Lake next Monday for their second game of the fall.

*Here's a video I haven't posted yet...it's about a nine-minute long clip from last week's match at MACCRAY. That seems so long ago right now!! It was just five nights ago, but wow, it has been an exciting stretch here lately! Some days are all about the adrenaline and the fun you're having!
